St. Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions
The Great Martyr Anastasia was a Roman noblewoman, born to a pagan father and a secretly Christian mother, and instructed in the faith by her teacher, the martyr Chrysogonus.
During the persecution of Diocletian she went from prison to prison in disguise, feeding imprisoned Christians, treating their wounds, and ransoming captives, until she herself was martyred by fire around the year 304. She is called Pharmakolytria, Deliverer from Potions, because through her intercessions the faithful have been healed from the effects of poisons, potions, and other harmful substances.
