St. Spyridon of Trimythous
December 124th century
St. Spyridon of Trimythous (270-348 AD) was a shepherd who became Bishop of Trimythous in Cyprus. Known for his simplicity, humility, and wonder-working, he attended the First Ecumenical Council where he convinced a philosopher of the truth of Christianity through a simple demonstration of the Trinity using a brick.
Halt! For the Lord of all the world commands that you permit me to cross so that a man may be saved.
There was only one brick, but it was composed of three elements. In the Holy Trinity there are three Persons, but only one God.
Prayer to St. Spyridon
O most blessed hierarch Spyridon, great servant of Christ, pray for us sinners to the Lord, that He may grant us forgiveness of our sins.
