St. Cyprian of Carthage
St. Cyprian of Carthage (200-258 AD) was Bishop of Carthage and an important early Christian writer. A wealthy pagan who converted to Christianity, he became bishop shortly after.
His writings on church unity, the sacraments, and martyrdom were highly influential. He died a martyr during the Valerian persecution.
He cannot have God for his Father who does not have the Church for his Mother.
No one is saved alone, as an isolated individual, but God attracts us looking at the complex web of relationships that take place in the human community.
He [Christ], protects their faith and gives strength to believers, in proportion to the TRUST, that each man, who receives that strength, is willing to place in Him.
Prayer of St. Cyprian
May We Confess Your Name to the End Good God, may we confess Your Name to the end. May we emerge unmarked and glorious from the traps and darkness of this world. As You have bound us together by charity and peace and as together we have persevered under persecution, so may we also rejoice together in Your heavenly kingdom. Amen
