St. George the Trophy-Bearer
April 234th century
St. George (died 303 AD) was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr. According to tradition, he refused to sacrifice to pagan gods and was tortured and beheaded.
He is often depicted slaying a dragon, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. He is one of the most venerated saints in Christianity.
I am named George, I am a gentleman, a knight of Cappadocia, and have left all for to serve the God of heaven.
Ah, sir, believe it not, but come with me and see how I shall sacrifice.
I am a servant of Christ, my God, and trusting in Him, I have come among you voluntarily, to bear witness concerning the Truth.
Prayer to St. George
Holy, glorious, and right-victorious Great Martyr George, intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
Prayer of St. George
Lord God of heaven and of earth, for the love of whose name I suffer these torments, receive my soul into thy glory.
