St. Mary Magdalene
St. Mary Magdalene was born in the town of Magdala on the shore of the Sea of Galilee and became a devoted disciple of Christ after He cast seven demons out of her.
She followed Him faithfully through Galilee and Judea, stood by the Cross when the apostles had fled, and came to the tomb with myrrh, becoming the first to see the risen Lord and to announce the Resurrection to the apostles, for which the Church calls her Myrrh-bearer and Equal-to-the-Apostles. Tradition holds that she later preached in Rome, where she greeted Emperor Tiberius with a red egg and the words "Christ is Risen," and ended her days in Ephesus with the Apostle John.
They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.
Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.
I have seen the Lord!
Christ is Risen!

Standing before the Cross of the Savior, suffering with the Mother of the Lord, the most glorious Mary Magdalene offered praise with tears. She cried out: What is this strange wonder? He who holds the whole creation in His hand chooses to suffer. Glory, O Lord, to Your power!
