St. Nina of Georgia
St. Nina (c. 280-335) was born in Cappadocia, a relative of the Great Martyr George, and was raised in Jerusalem. The Most Holy Theotokos appeared to her in a vision, gave her a cross woven of grapevine, and sent her to preach the Gospel in Iberia (Georgia).
Through her prayers she healed Queen Nana, and King Mirian, delivered from sudden darkness after calling on the God of Nina, embraced Christ, and Georgia was established as a Christian nation around 326. After decades of apostolic labor she reposed in peace at Bodbe in eastern Georgia, where a church was built over her grave.
Almighty God! By Your great mercy, bring this people to the knowledge of Yourself, the One, True God.
If the queen wants to be well, let her come here to me in this hut, and I believe that she will receive healing here by the power of Christ, my God.
Troparion · Tone 4

Kontakion · Tone 2
Come, all of you, let us sing praises today to the one chosen by Christ, the equal of the Apostles, the preacher of God's Word, the wise bearer of good tidings, who brought the people of Kartli to the path of life and truth; she is the disciple of the Mother of God, our zealous intercessor and unsleeping guardian, the all-praised Nina.
